The Gathering Place is a community centre based in Morwell, Gippsland and provides a culturally safe environment for all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples to make their own, the place where they can share, learn and celebrate culture.
The Gathering Place advocates for the needs and services on behalf of the community and provides the community with a one-stop resource hub to offer and advise on different services being delivered to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in Latrobe Valley.
Activities include:
- Elders Art group
- Women’s group
- Koorie Youth Group for young people to make friends, try new activities and discover culture
- Community Arts Programs
- Food Bank
- Free Corner
- Information hub & Advocacy
- Yarning Rooms
- Thursday community lunches
- Koorie homework club for children
